Department of English language and literature

    The English Language Department is considered as specialized department of English language. According to the Decision of State Attestation the students taught in the department obtain bachelor's degree.
    The problem of the Department: "Continuity of the communicative education using innovation technologies". The Department makes extension the ideas and works out problems in the sphere of education. Today, as in the past times there is a demand for high qualified people capable of discussing the most actual and problematic vital matters. The results of great representatives of science are applied in practice by teachers' staff of the department. At the present time a number of questions are widely spread out concerning learning English language. In a high speed of the development in various spheres of humanity philologists have to discuss the problems related to new appeared foreign words. During discussion certain problems philologists have to collaborate with other science and discuss in collaboration with other higher education institutions. The Department closely collaborates with World Languages State University of Uzbekistan, Samarqand Foreign Languages State University, Goethe Institute, British Council and others. The department has library supplied with educational materials such as new techniques in methodical appliances and books of new technologies. Educational aids have audio and video cassettes and discs. Moreover, the department includes audio and video classes equipped with necessary educational facilities. The taught subjects make students work self-independently which are important for the development of communicative skills of modern specialists. At meantime the department has its computer class where you can find electron versions of books, educational aids and materials of the teachers of the department.
    The computer class is connected to the global network Internet and students have an opportunity to use the resources of the world libraries and use them in the preparation of their qualification works. The member of the department Doctor Tadjiev Kh. lead the School of young researchers and mini - school. The members of mini -school are awarded with the scholarships of Ulugbek, Navoi. The members of school lead by young researchers A. Rashidov and E. Hamdamov are working on their dissertation. I. Kabulov defended his dissertation in 2008. Annually the graduates of mini-school are enrolled at Magistracy at Universities of the Republic and come back to university. Thus, the department supplies itself with specialists. The staff is in constant search for the enrichment its scientific potential and pedagogic skills through Qualification Commission. In 2008 senior teacher Hatamova S. had her qualification in Germany, teachers of English language of the department Rustamov O. and Rahmonov T. in Malaysia and Aljanov E. in India. The members of the department published more 120 articles, some of them in abroad. They all take part in conferences and seminars with reports.
    The department organizes constantly seminar-trainings where young specialists are introduced with interactive methods and new pedagogic technologies. Seminars are held by experienced teachers who had qualifications in abroad and in British Council.
    The department is not in locked surrounding, the periodicals received from Russia such as "Foreign Languages at schools, newspaper in English language "Moscow News"" give opportunities to be acquainted with culture, news and events occurred in the world and hence they increase the activity of the students.
    The department closely collaborates with the teachers of the colleges and academic lyceums of the region. According to the plan the department organizes collaborative seminars and conferences.
    In September, 2008 the department organized the experimental group where 20 students are taught according to new program.
    The staff of the department is young and hard-working will have perspective scientific potential.
