THE “SCIENCE” DEPARTMENT

     The Scientific Department was founded in 1992. Since 2002 the deparment was lead by A. Aralov.
     The scientific   department organizes scientific - and- research activity of postgraduate students researchers, masters, talented students   and youth.  It also leads organizing   activity of all types of scientific and creative work on the basis of fundamental, applied, innovative, self financing,  foreign types of scientific grants, fulfilled by the scientists  of the departments.  Into the framework of the activity  enter forming scientific,  scientific- and- research   work,  in common with the faculties  and departments  the  department  defines  gifted  students, follows  and  studies their scientific  activity.
     The department organizes work on receiving   into the  post graduate study  the research  assistants, leading scientific -and- research   work  and also directs  sends  those  who want  to study   at the post  graduate  courses  in the high   educational  institutions  of the republic .
     The scientific  department organizes scientific - and - theoretical, scientific- and- practical   conferences  and seminars,  on the  scale   of  the  University  and the Republic,  manages  the  measures  of the scientific  directions, competitions, Olympiads on the subjects.
     In 1993 the post graduate study was opened  at the University, where now 12 person study  on internal branch.
     At present time the following specialties  are conducted in post graduate  study training.

     Opening the  post graduate  study on 4 specialties is also planned. 2 doctors of science,  3 candidates of  science from the  University staff  supervise  over  post graduate  students. 
     The preparation of masters begun in 2001-2002 academic year. At present time 20 masters are being prepared on following   specialties.

    On the basis of “Regulation on carrying out of competition of the talented students” developed by the department was organized  selection  of the  talented  students and it recommended candidates for the state and nominal grants, founded  in the sphere of formation.
    The department conducts team work with scientific centers as “The center of regional researchers”, “The center of pedagogical innovations”, “Young scientists”, “Mini schools”, Social movement of youth “Kamolot” (a management of scientifically creative activity of the talented students) and conducts practical work in  organizations of favorable conditions for students and youth. And it also managers and controls  over “Mini schools”, “Schools of young scientists”, scientific and creative circles which are held  at faculties. 
    In 2008-2009 academic year scientific seminars were organized at the faculties and they were conducted with coordination of  the scientific department.
    Scientific conferences are being held annually 4-5 times on the republican scale. On the basis of the order № 237.from 8/08/2008. The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized  Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan more than 200 students from the general contingent, were involved in dissertational research work. 
    At the present time Gulistan State University carries out activities in cooperation with international institutions as Hernobl University of France, universities of Belgium, Gzech, Slovakia, Spain, China, scientific centers of Russian Academy of Science, Moscow State University, international organizations as ICARDA, ICBA, IWMI, IPGRI and other educational- scientific centers.
    The Scientific Department has cooperation with leaders of High Educational Institutions with the help of departments to carry out scientific-investigations as training of scientific and scientific-pedagogic specialists, investigative researches in priority directions, researches on grant projects and etc.
    Many pedagogic specialists of different specialization and scientific degrees were trained in cooperation with institute of language and literature, institute of philosophy and history, scientific-investigative institute of pedagogic science, institute of zoology, Scientific Production center(SPC) "Botany", Production Union(PU) "Physics- Sun" after Academy of Science, National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent state agrar university, Tashkent state pedagogical university, Samarkand state university as well as other scientific centers. As well as were published many textbooks, educational textbooks, monographies and other scientific-methodical materials.
     University is developing its international scientific cooperations in education, production, agriculture and water management, ecology, ethnography and etc.
     About 7 doctors, more than 104 candidates of science, 12 post graduate students, 150 pedagogic specialists carry out their investigative activities in different themes. Annualy 6-8 investigators defend their doctor's and candidate dissertations successfully.
