Philosophy and national idea of independence

    Our faculty was founded in 1968 and was attached to Syrdaryo State Pedagogical Institute under the name of «The Principles of Marxism –Leninism». In 1980 it was renamed into the «Philosophy faculty».Such great scientists as A.Abulkasymov, S.Yusupov, U.Begimkulov, A.Abdurasulov, B.Babahanov and R.Mahmudov headed the faculty from the day of its foundation till the Present time. At Present the chairman of the faculty is the candidate of philosophical sciences, senior lectures, B. Gafurov.
    The faculty concerns itself with the “Philosophical views of Central Asian Thinkers ” as the main subject of its research. About fifty (50) scientific articles, more than ten (10) brochures and monographies on the subject have been published by the members of our faculty. The following leading senior lecturers of the faculty have defended their master`s theses on the following subjects: Sh.Yusupov “The Person and Society ”, Assistant Professor R.Z.Mahmudov “H.V.Kashifi`s Philosophical and ethical views ”, Assistant Professor U.Begimkulov “The Influence of the scientific and technical revolution on social and political life”, Assistant Professor A.Abdurasulov “Social and Utopian views of Farabi ”. S. Ismoilov on the theme «The place of nakshbandism in the development of nessim», N. Temirova on the theme «Dialects of national and human values in the spiritual sermation of students uouth».
     The following young of the faculty are doing the following research: “Z.M.Babur`s social and political views” is the subject of investigation of B.A.Gafurov, S.T.Iamailov in working under the problem of “Nakshbandy`s Role in the development of Sufism”, S.H.Kenjaev concerns himself with “Pedagogical Foundations of moral education of students”, U.N.Mavlonov is working on the theme of “Ali Safi`s Spiritual and ethical heritage and his role in the development of the history of Philosophy”.
    The faculty has established close ties (relations ) on research with such leading Universities and scientific research Institutes of the Republic, as the Institute of Philosophy and law named after I.Muminova at teacher to the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan , Uzbek National University, Tashkent State Pedagogical University name after Nizami, Fargona State University, Samarkand State University, Urgench State University, etc. Twelve (12) professors and teachers work at the faculty. They train students in such subjects as “Philosophy”, “Ethics”, “Aesthetics”, “Logic”, “The basis of spirituality”, “The basis of religious studies”, “Cultural science”, “Axiology as the philosophy of values”, “The Ideology of the national independence: its basic principles and concepts”, “Legal philosophy”, “The history and the theory of Philosophy”.
     A creative group has been formed at Gulistan State University. The members of the faculty are its active participants. They take active part in political, spiritual and moral life of University as well as the whole Syrdaryo region. The fakultu hold more than 10 scientific conferences of the republic and international importance. The fakultu anual curriculum on 2008-2009 year consist of 12500 hour.
