Philological faculty

Philology faculty trains the specialists, bachelors on the following branches:
Uzbek philology
Slavonic philology
English philology
Kazakh philology

Six departments function on the faculty:
The department of the Uzbek language
The department of the Uzbek literature
The department of the English language and literature
The department of the Russian language and literature
chair of foreign languages
The department of the Kazakh language and literature

Six professors 15 docents work at the faculty.
    The staff takes an active part in elaboration of scientific problems in applying new pedagogical and information technologies in the teaching process. The new text books, educational elaborations of a new generation were worked out by the staff of the faculty.

    The scientific-research work is going on the above-mentioned departments as “Essential problems of Uzbek literature, Continuity of communicative education via innovative technologies”. Actual problems of teaching the Russian language and Literature in the system of continuity education “Essential problems of the Kazakh language and Literature”
    The students of the faculty are involved in the scientific research work. Scientific theoretical conferences, devoted to the questions of learning and teaching the languages and literature are annually held in particular, in 2006-2007 the scientific-practical conference in the Republic an Scale on theme “Problems of teaching the Russian language and literature in the system of continuity education on the basis of pedagogical and information technologies was held.
    During 4 years the Republican Olympiad on English among the nonspecialaized students is taken place. The presentation of Ozod Sharofundinov’s book “In contemporary’s memory” was held at the faculty.
    “Mini schools”, the schools of young scientists’ are functioning at all departments of the faculty. The gifted students became the members of different subject clubs as “Yosh shershunos”, “Khalk tili” “Russian word” “Yosh journalists”, “Slovesnik” and the final result of their membership is the publication of articles.
    A master degree department is functioning at the department of Uzbek literature and Uzbek language, and also it supplied to carry out scientific research work of the masters to the degree of candidate work. Also in these departments there exist post graduate courses, where on these directions scientific are search works are held.
    Today the material and technical and educational and laboratory basis of the faculty are rather expounded. At the disposal of the students are studies, supplied with modern video and computers techniques: 4 computer classes, audio and video class, and also museums named after well known professors Khudayberdi Doniyorov and Akram Kattabekov, an educational auditorium named after folk poet of Uzbekistan. Tura Sulaymon, there is a separate library for the students of the Roman and German directions.
    There are 695 students study at the faculty.
    The student of the third course of the English philology Rakhimova Dilbar became the winner of the stipend fund “Kelajak ovozi” for gifted students. The student of the third course Mukhtarova Shakhlo, and the student of the fourth course Makhmudov Alimardon and Atabaev Hamid became the winner of Educational grant of “Mehr Nuri” fund.
