Centre of Multimedia
Basing on the order of the Cabinet of Ministers from June 6, 2002 “About the measures of developing computer technologies and implementation of information-communication technologies” as well as the State Publishing Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Education of making new generation textbooks for the system of continuous education, a wide introduction of e-books into the learning process has been taking place since 2006.
Consequently, there was a necessity of creating multimedia centre functioning at present in Gulistan State University. E-version of books and textbooks brought by the teachers of the University are the basis for the improvement of the learning process.
Multimedia, being a rapidly developing modern information technology, includes the following traditional information varieties: texts, tables, different pictures, as well as original information types: speech, music, TV shots from video films, essays and animation.
For processing audio and video info it is necessary to increase the movement of the central processor, conducting ability of transmission, the volume of the video memory, external memory of larger capacity, the role of in and out exchanges.
The modern practice shows that teaching the listeners with the help of multimedia is twice more effective than traditional one.
The advantage of teaching multimedia is as follows: it makes possible to comprehend the material deeper and for a larger period of time.
A greater desire to close contacts with new sources of getting knowledge, time management in the process of education is expressed.
Multimedia centre has established a bond between Uzbek National University, Samarkand State University, Tashkent State Irrigational University, Tashkent University of Information Technologies.
