    In Gulistan State University accomplished on ensuring Inlilment decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.A. Karimov for NP-381 «About organization of in formation-library realization of population of the Republic of Uzbekistan from June 20.2006.» Decree of the He government of Surdariya region for N88-from june 24. 2006,  He order of Ministry of higher and specialized education for N131-1. Particularly He leadership of University brought out He order on He base of foregoing documents for N85.0 from july 10.2006. On He base of His order He definite measures were held. Particularly in He base of University Information Resources Centre was created.
    On April 17.2008 there was held unveiling of He Center. On He same Day He republican methodical seminar-training on Hume «Perspectives of Satisfaction He requirements of population. in modern informational resources».
    The library of Gulistan State University is the most important component of forming the common students' culture. Its activity is directed to supplying the major conditions for education, scientific activity, and for cultural development of everyone from 3.500 university students.
    The library fund contains more than 400 entries of literature. The spectrum of service is also being expanded. About 8.000 entries of printed materials come to the library annually. The main fund of the library contains textbooks, studying aids, which are coming from the educational institutions of Uzbekistan, "Ustoz" publishing house, Soros fund, BMT fund, "Fan", PERDCA and from the scientific works of the University teachers' staff.
    The following departments are functioning in the library:

1. Scientific methodical department;
2. Department of admission and catalogues;
3. Department of informational electronic resources and literatures;
4. Informational department;
5. Department of informational technology;
6. Curator department.

    Account, technical processing, and classifying of coming literature due to ISSN tables is held in the department of completing and processing.
    There are alphabetical and systematical catalogs in the loan system department, which reflect the literature fund of the latter.
    Literature in the loan system department is given to teachers and students of both full time and part time faculties in unlimited quantities on condition that the books will be returned in the end of the studying year.
    In the department of belles-letters the works of writers from the Republic of Uzbekistan and CIS countries in Russian, Uzbek, English and German are collected. All conditions for simultaneous studying of more than 280 people are made in the reading hall.
    The funds of the reading hall are arranged due to the tables of literature classification and placed in the following sections:

• physical and mathematical;
• history and social disciplines;
• biology and chemistry;
• ecology
• technical and agriculture;
• scientific section;
• universal literature;
• Department periodicals press.

    In the scientific section the works of the university teachers' staff and more than 120 dissertations of scholars from CIS and Uzbekistan are collected. Conditions are also made for the work of masters and aspirants.
    87 kinds of magazines issued in Uzbekistan and Russia, 151 kinds of newspapers issued in Uzbekistan come to the section of periodicals within the "Matbuot Uyushmasi" organization. More than 9777798,60 of sums are annually allocated for ordering periodical literature.
    There is a computer class in the reading hall where 50 computers are linked with the internet. There also exists a video projector for observations by means of video cameras to the work of readers in the reading hall.
    IRC became the center of supplying to wide access of teachers and students to the internet. The personal login and password is given to each of the students; it gives a possibility to internet authentication from any computer within the University link.
    Information on the library fund, new acquisitions, and annotated bibliographical guides is contained in the electronic-based catalogue and in the cite of the library, where readers can easily, without the help of librarian, to find out necessary literature.
    Various informational requirements of readers are satisfied with "Helping Service" containing printers and scanners.
    IRC of the university is an active participant in the sphere of distant education of students, having located in its cite web-cite the studying courses of the University teachers and creating digital studying lectures. The library became to serve not only as a resource, but also as a participant of the educational process.
    Wide possibilities of library service are realized with the help of the web-portal, where various parts of reference service of the library, catalogues and other informational resources are presented.
    IRC cite supplies the access to its electronic resources on non-textual versions of textbooks and study books on the major disciplines. Electronic versions of textbooks and study books are absolutely identical to their printed originals.
