The Department of Foreign Languages

    The department of foreign languages is considered to be "inter-faculty, its members teach two foreign languages English and German as common educational subjects at non-professional faculties. 1-4 semesters are included in the course of a foreign language. The main course of  a foreign language is completed with a Final State Exam on the fourth semester. This course consists of the following types of lesson: practical lessons in auditoriums under teacher's supervision and self-work on the given task. Educational-and-methodical collections for the students of special correspondence students by assistant - professor O.Mamajonov and for the students of all directions by senior teacher D.Butaeva were transformed into multimedia electron handouts-reference books. Assistant-professors Kh.Tadjiyev and    O.Mamajonov   compiled  a methodical guidance on  theme: "Shakespeare's works and their study on the basis of the modern pedagogical technology.”
    Textbooks  of methodic, textbooks  on subjects  and electronic  version  of English teaching  programmers  such  as  “English for all”, “Talk now”,  “English for beginners”  were installed  in computer  classes  of the faculty. Four textbooks  of  methodic, collection of tests, electronic version of six books  and teaching text-books were installed in computers.
    Practical lessons are held according to the new pedagogical  technologies. Teachers of  departments  apply useful teaching methods. Teachers pay attention to the improvement the quality of education, knowledge of students and how well students are provided with books. General knowledge of teaching staff were analyzed and tested.  On  practical   lessons  teachers  widely  apply  the new  pedagogical  technology.
    All  textbooks of methodic, textbooks  belonging  to the portal  of university   have  been  reviewed.  There  are  teaching  aids, tests, scientific  articles, scanned  books,  synopses, and essays  in portal.  Six electronic books  on subjects  are  being  created  by  responsible teachers of our department. F.Muhammedova    prepared  the electronic  version  of teaching  methodic  books  on the German language.
The seminars  on several topics have  been  held in the department. “Modern methods  of teaching is a requirement  of time“ , “Methods of improving  the quality of teaching”,  “The role of the  new pedagogical  technologies  in  teaching English ”     Department's scientific research problem is "Importance of usage of modern pedagogical technique and information technologies on improvement of foreign language teaching methods". Young specialists of the department took part in different international seminars: Sh.Abdurazzakova in British Embassy in March 2006 and N.Nosirova at the Institute of Goethe in 2005. They made presentations on theme: "Modern non-traditional lesson" and got certificates of those seminars. New methods of teaching were presented at methodological seminars of the department and open lessons.
    And "The English language" circle (group) functions on the basis of the department. It is conducted  by D. Butayeva  They try to use non-traditional, interactive methods and organize  role playing during the studies. Members of the circle are the talented students from all faculties of the University, who eager to learn English. The students are aqquinted with the latest information taken from Internet and work on TOEFL tests. Translation of scientific and technical texts in written form ways of using of the special dictionaries, giving information on the exact material these are some types of the lessons of the circle.
     Experienced teachers as  assistant- professors  Olimjon Mamajonov,  Yanglish Egamova and  D.Butaeva  are attached to young teachers-specialists and they work with the later in developing the teaching abilities and become skilled teachers. The department discussed scientific articles of  teachers  and scientific research investigations of Abdujalil Gapparov and Faroghat Muhammedova. Once a month seminar is hold with young future scientists. The seminar is organized in the form of question-answer work or talks on certain themes prepared beforehand. The members of the  department took part in one month course in order on improving their knowledge in English and on their future research fields.
    Four young staff  members  of the department    improved the  qualifications in the courses of the English language and informational technology in India.  Another  teacher of the department  Mamatova Mashhura   passed the exam on DAAD program and took the permission   for further  education  in Germany.
The English and the German language circles are organized by qualified teachers of the  department  every week.
    There work a circle of "Foreign Languages" and also a school of "Young Scientists" under the supervision  of  assistant- professor Olimjon Mamajonov. The members of the school are Abdujalil Gapparov, Dilfuza Uralova and Faroghat Muhammedova. The lesson of this school is held once a month. At the lessons of the English language much attention is paid to the development of oral speech skills.
    In the collection devoted to the Republican Conference and spent on the 15 of September 2005 at the Uzbek State University of Foreign Languages on the theme: "The problems of teaching foreign languages communicative methods in Uzbekistan". In this collection Mamajonov Olimjon and Dilbar   Butaeva's articles are published.
    Besides the members of the department took part  in Republican conference on the 30th of May 2006, devoted to the problems of teaching Languages spent by the State Pedagogical University named after Nizamiy on 14 of June 2006 at the Conference in Samarkand Institute of Foreign Languages devoted to memory of the rector, professor Mamatov.
    On the whole the department consists of young specialists. Three of them: Abdukadirova Nasiba, Ummatova Mamura  and Hamdamov Usmon  are continuing their studying get a Master's degree;  at Uzbek National University  Other four young specialists' aim to continue their study and get Master's degree. They also want to busy themselves with scientific activity.
The department   signed some contracts about co-operation with Uzbek National University, State Pedagogical University named after Nizamiy, Uzbekistan State University of World Languages. Besides join plans in scientific educational and methodical directions, also steps on participating in different conferences have been taken.
    The members   of the department   took an active part at the republican conferences   held  in  2008 and dedicated  to the problems  of the  new Pedagogical Technologies  in  teaching English at Higher Education   Establishments. Many of the scientific   collections of the works   of young artists were published.       The second round of the Republican Olympiad on English among the student has been held at our University for the last 4 years. The members of the department prepared thoroughly   for this event and so, it was pointed out that the Olympiad was organized well. The students  of the economy faculty A. Hadjiev and  U.Kurbanov  took part and won one of the honorable places in the republican contest on the English language.
